City Administrator Jay Johnson has provided the following in response to my inquiry regarding the recent retirement of two suspended police officers.

So, Dana, what this means is that nothing happened until Dennis Phillips brought it to the public's attention? Isn't this the usual?

Wow! An internal investigation of the police dept. conducted by the police dept., and it took Moore over two months to make a decision!

You can also take drugs and it is apparantly kept under wraps. Both of these employees were in management. No wonder the firefighters have a union!

Thank you Jay for your timely response and keep the broom in your office next to the rug. An exemplary city administrator and police chief!

Anon 8:42: Just like an elected official and his wife can be under the influence at public events cussing people out and remain in office because there's no recall provision in the charter.

Hooray! Bravo! This is what I've been waiting to hear all along! Moore and Johnson are two peas in a pod. Except Moore is the dumber one. He can get drunk, drive all around town and remain the department head of the police department. Johnson . . . well that's too long of a story to tell. But, pretty much everyone knows it -- even his cronies.
