I won't be able to make the 3rd Ward meeting. I've got another commitment.

During the 3rd ward meeting the subject of alderman behavior during BOMA meetings was brought up and noted as an embarrassment to this town. It was suggested by the Mayor that people contact the aldermen regarding their conduct. Therefore I would like to respectfully ask you, Mr. McClendon, to in the future treat your fellow board members with respect, address your comments to the board rather than playing to the audience, to be more prepared by studying your materials before the meeting, and to prepare your comments and limit them to 3 or so minutes. Your conduct and comments, at times, have been disrespectful and almost always your comments are way to long.
Having said that, I would also like to thank you for your service to this community.

Anon. 4:55: Except for your last sentence, I couldn't disagree more. Thank goodness we have Mr. McLendon. I just hope Ms. Randolph and Mrs. Burger will use him as an example as a representative and voice of the people who elected them.

The comments of anon 4:55 did not refer to Mr. McClendons representation of his constituents but to name calling of other aldermen, walking out of meetings, and excessive egocentric verbosity. Please make a new beginning for the sake of us all.

Apparently a "left-sider" has chimed in. Not quite sure what Anon 4:55 thinks is disrespectful in a BOMA...Alderman McClendon's frank and pointed questions are out of line but a lynch mob for Jay Johnson isn't..

Actually I'm not a "left sider" as you put it and as far as I know Jay Johnson is doing a good job. I have made similar requests for better behavior of other aldermen.

I'm SOOOOO glad I got re-elected. I'm going to use the next four years to really annoy a lot of people, and then they can come here and anonymously complain about it. Should be tons of fun.

Last post reposted without the profanity:

this _____ is too funny....amazes me how emotional people get about stupid issues like beavers.

Don't act like any other city in American doesn't make stupid purchases like Golf Courses for Battlefields or Horse Farms for city parks. I am kind of glad the battlefield is coming back because as a "Yankee", I can see where my ancestors did some ass kicking.

As for Dana, I don't typically get too involved in politics, but he seems like a guy who gets things done. Not saying he always does the right thing, but at least some action is taken. That says a lot for a politician. I despise politicians more than lawyers. Oops, Dana is both.

I have never attended a city council meeting nor do I ever intend to. No sense in pretending to be heard. Cast your opinion in the voting booths, have individual meetings where you have undivided attention, and move on. If you don't get what you want, go to another city.

Dana, keep causing trouble at meetings. That is the only way I could ever watch channel 10 and be entertained. Maybe next meeting you could pull a Kruschev and start banging your shoe on the podium.
