Department Heads and City employees don't work for the Aldermen. They work for the City of Franklin who has an Administrator who serves at the pleasure of BOMA. BOMA sets policy, direction and vision. The City Administrator is to implement. The re-draft of the City charter was put off until after the election by those who would like the employees to "come to them with problems" thus by-passing the chain of command. If this broken organizational philosophy prevails, it won't matter who is the City Administrator. There will always be another mess and another vendetta. The City and its citizens will be the losers.
Dana, a glaring omission to your City of Franklin organizational chart is the Heritage Foundation of Franklin and all its sham non profit step sisters. I would correctly insert them as an invisible overlay over BOMA (and somewhere else.) Then again, maybe you did....
Dana, I noticed your post was published prior to the BOMA meeting last night. Did anyone you mention indicate they saw it when you arrived at the BOMA meeting.
When one compares the number of elected BOMA who are also unelected Heritage Foundation Co. Members, one could ascertain that it would be advantageous for BOMA members who are also HFCO members to vote BOMA the power to control (FIRE) our city servants.

Oh what tangled webs we weave......
This org chart looks like it was designed for a full-time BOMA...
If you want to see a city with the BOMA involved in micromanageing every department, look no further than Metro...
With everyone overseeing everything, nobody is responsible for nothin'--kinda like FEMA.
This is nothing more than a major power grab, pure and simple.

mehere,is there a government, local, state or federal that wants the citizens to know what is really going on? if so where is it?
Good Lord, what a mess. We have GOT to get Tom Miller out of here.
Firefighters and Phillips get things done, ie the email commet. FFA presented Phillips with Firefighter of the year award.
I wish those idiot firmen would quit calling my house! All they do is leave hangups on the answering machine and then call at 8:00 p.m.!

It’s not called HFBOMA for nothing.
Good catch, franklincircus - you're absolutely right.
I kept having this feeling that something was missing from that chart... Thank you.
